Worm CompostingA couple years ago I took up an old favorite hobby of mine, vegetable gardening. The first year went great. The second year we had a little trouble (raccoons ate all our beautiful almost-ripe corn and we did get tomato blight like everyone else) but we still had some great veggies and herbs. We started an outdoor compost bin and were amazed at the whole process of kitchen and garden waste converting easily into a usable, rich compost for the garden. After fall, when it really started getting cold up here in the Northeast, I found I didn't want to have to take my kitchen waste outside so I thought I'd try worm composting (vermicomposting). Here are a few photos. - PaulaSee how it's going now on my Worm Composting and gardening blog. |
