November 3, 1935 - February 4, 2013 Sylvia A. Crispino, 77, of Hartford, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 4, 2013 at St. Francis Hospital after a long fight with Alzheimer's. She was the loving wife to her husband Benito Crispino who passed away in July 2010. Born in New Haven to the late Giuseppe and Adele (Brentan) Mancarella, she was a 1953 graduate of Hartford High School and has been a Hartford resident all of her adult life. She met her husband Benito, at the age of 21 while working for Phoenix Fire Insurance Co. and was employed for many years at Travelers in Hartford. She enjoyed going dancing, to Big Band concerts, swimming, bowling, camping, and helping with local blood donations. Sylvia was a kind and loving woman who never said an unkind word to anyone. She surely was an angel on this earth but now she can be truly happy. She will be dearly missed by her family and all who knew her. She is survived by her sons Salvatore Crispino of Newington and Kyle Crispino of Wilton; her daughter Nadine Durkin and her husband Kenneth of Hartford; her grandchildren Paul, Anita, Michael, Peter, and Lilah; her great-grandson Julian Long; her brothers Joseph Mancarella and his wife Betty of Windsor, Frank Mancarella and his wife Rosalie of Windsor Locks, and Stephen Mancarella of Arizona. Besides her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her brother Albert Mancarella. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 AM Friday, February 8 at St. Brigid Church, 1088 New Britain Ave West Hartford, followed by burial in Mount St. Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield. The family will receive friends on Thursday, February 7 from 4 PM to 8 PM at the Carmon Windsor Funeral Home, 807 Bloomfield Ave Windsor.
