Benito A. Crispino January 3, 1932 - July 29, 2010 Benito A. Crispino, 78, of Hartford, beloved husband of Sylvia (Mancarella) Crispino, passed away peacefully Thursday, July 29, 2010 at St. Francis Hospital. Born in Willimantic, the youngest child of Salvatore and Giovanna (Fargnoli) Crispino, the family moved to Hartford in the early 1940s. Benito's older brothers John, Salvatore (Sam), Alec and Anthony all served in World War II with Anthony losing his life in combat. In the mid 1950s Benito went to work for Phoenix Insurance in Hartford as an accountant. There he met Sylvia whom he married in 1957. The two worked for the Phoenix/Traveler's Insurance companies for nearly forty years, residing in Hartford. Benito was a collector of music, World War II era books and movies, and was an avid sports fan. He is survived by his wife, Sylvia; his children, Salvatore Crispino of Newington, Nadine Durkin and her husband Kenneth, of Hartford, and Kyle Crispino of Norwalk; grandchildren, Paul, Anita, Michael, Peter, and Lilah; a great-grandchild Julian Long; a brother, John Crispino and his wife Sandy, of East Windsor; along with many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and in-laws. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers, Sam, Alec, and Anthony Crispino. Family and friends may gather at 9 AM Tuesday, August 3 at the Carmon Funeral Home, 807 Bloomfield Ave. Windsor, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM at St. Justin's Church, 230 Blue Hills Ave. Hartford. Burial will follow at Mt. St. Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield.
