The Mancarella Family
This branch of the Mancarella family originated in Sicily, in the town of Canicattini Bagni. Giuseppe Mancarella (1893-1963) came to Connecticut in 1913. He settled in Hartford and married Antonina (Lena) Figaro (1895-1925) in 1918. They had 6 children, two of which died in infancy.
When Antonina died in 1925, Giuseppe took his remaining 4 children back to Italy to be cared for by his sister-in-law. He returned to Connecticut in 1928 and married for a second time to Adele Brentan (1902-1969) in 1929. They had 5 children.
